Currently in D.C. — October 12 2023: Sunny and perfect

Plus, our new global warming reality, in one terrifying graph.

The weather, currently.

Sunny and tempered

Miranda Kerr once said: "Some sunshine is good for the soul, but I always make sure I wear a big hat." I’m taking her advice today. We have a beautiful sunny day in our midst, and temperatures will be slightly higher than yesterday reaching 75°F around 3 in the afternoon. The air begins to cool down to the mid 60s by night. We’ll feel some slight humidity too. Enjoy this bright respite because we’ll face another rainy weekend in a couple of days.

What you need to know, currently.

A new comprehensive summary of September’s shocking global temperature record was published on Wednesday. It’s worth a read in its entirety — it give an overview of exactly what happened, why, and what we can expect over the coming year or so as a result.

I’ll leave it at that. This graph says it all.

We are in a climate emergency.
